Overlays
are a type of thick label used to mask-off or hide areas on the face of the infrared remote where buttons or keys have been removed.
Reduce the key count on a remote by removing the rubber button (either
cut them off in post manufactured units, or not including them in production),
and then placing an overlay over the face (top husing) of the remote to cover
the cut areas or holes. Not all infrared remotes are designed to use overlay labels. Infrared remotes that use overlays have an area surrounding the keys that is recessed so that the overlay can fit in the area. Some remote controls have several button areas for overlay labels. Graphics, button identification labels, company and brand logos and other artwork can be printedon the overlay label. Overlays can include multiple colors. |
